TEACHER TRAINING (ITT/SCHOOL DIRECT)
Quotation from Emily - School Direct trainee:
"By choosing the schools direct method into teaching with TSA24, I have been fully supported through my placements and time at university on the PGCE course. The schools that I have worked with have provided me with valuable opportunities to grow and learn as a professional and apply theory to practise in creative learning environments. The twilight sessions organised by the alliance have given me practical advice, preparing me for my own future classrooms. The school experiences I have had, arranged by TSA24, have fully equipped me with the skills I need to begin a career in teaching”.
Quotation from Beccy - School Direct trainee:
"I remember the first time I seriously considered a teaching career was after receiving an email from my son’s school explaining to parents about a School Direct route into teaching. For me this awakened an interest in me and I couldn’t stop thinking about the idea.
I hadn’t realised that through a School Direct route it was possible to be more involved in finding a placement school. My daughter had not yet started school and I felt that it would be helpful to be based in a local school. I spoke to teachers at my son’s school who were incredibly enthusiastic about their career choice, saying that once they had become a teacher, they never looked back.
The journey to becoming a teacher has been challenging so far. It has tested my resilience and my resolve – but I am still convinced it was the right decision for me. The staff at Hassocks Infants could not have been more supportive of me and I have been so encouraged by all their feedback and comments. It has been an extremely positive experience as a Trainee Teacher to be in a school that actively seeks to develop staff and share their knowledge and expertise. I have been made to feel that I am part of the team and that my ideas and contributions are valued. I feel as though I have been able to establish some new friendships which I hope will help me to keep motivated and focused.
I would highly recommend the School Direct route into teacher training – the support has been fantastic".
